Recognizing the potential for the organization and personal growth, Robert Koss joined Longo’s in 1987. He became a member of the inaugural category management team, responsible for 30 categories in 1996. In this role he focused his energies on product optimization and was able to establish ‘signature’ categories and transforming seasonal categories into year-round profit centers. The role of director, marketing was offered in 2003 because he could offer in-store retail and strategic buying capabilities.
He led his team to execute many successful programs such as launching Longo’s Experience magazine, Thank You Rewards loyalty program, The Loft by Longo’s cooking school, year-long anniversary campaigns and numerous cross functional promotions.
Koss is currently Director, Consumer Promotions and is a member of Longo’s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for strategic planning and team leadership and development. His insatiable desire to continually improve and learn is the motivation for continued studies in both marketing and strategy, as well as, membership in industry share groups and associations.
