Born and raised in Montreal’s Little Italy, Stefano Faita learned to cook at a very young age alongside his mother and grandmothers. Cooking was never an obligation or hobby, but a way of life. Everything happened in the kitchen or sitting at the table.
Faita’s cooking adventure began in 1993 at the family-run cooking school, Mezzaluna. He then went on to write a cooking column for a weekly newspaper for almost 10 years, which eventually led to several TV shows in Quebec and 4 cookbooks.
In 2012, he hosted In the Kitchen with Stefano Faita, his first English cooking show on CBC Television. Now, with three successful restaurants in Montreal – Impasto, Gema Pizzeria, Chez Tousignant – and a little more free time, Faita has recently launched a line of tomato sauces in Quebec and across Canada at all Sobeys stores and banners. New products are on the way for Fall 2018.
